Using Twine
Posting threads
Write a thread, set different text per platform, and how links, mentions and hashtags and character limits work.
A thread is a first post plus a chain of your own replies. Twine posts it to every account you choose, as a real reply chain on each network.
Parts
A thread is made of parts. The first part is the first post, and each following part is a reply to the one before it, from the same account. You can have as many parts as you need.
Where it goes
Post to a project and it goes to every account in the project. Or choose accounts one by one. Threads accounts get the thread on Threads, and Bluesky accounts get it on Bluesky.
Different text per platform
By default every account gets the same text. If you want, give each platform its own text for any part, for example a shorter version for Bluesky. Ask your agent, or use the platform fields in the web app (create_post takes optional per-platform text).
Limits
| Platform | Characters per post |
|---|---|
| Bluesky | 300 |
| Threads | 500 |
If one text is used for both platforms, keep each part within 300 characters, or write separate Bluesky text so Threads can use its 500.
Links, mentions and hashtags
On Bluesky, links, mentions and hashtags in your text become real links, mentions and tags. Write @handle.bsky.social for a mention, #tag for a hashtag and a full https:// address for a link.
After you post
Twine reports back with the status of the post and a link for each account. Ask your agent, or open the post in the web app (get_post). See Timing and scheduling for how and when the posts go out.
